Jose C. Palma Jr.

Atty. Palma, Jr., is a 1982 graduate of the Ateneo de Manila University College of Arts and Sciences, earning a degree in B.S. Business Management. He then took up Law in the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law, graduating in 1986. He took the Bar Examinations in November of the same year and had the distinction of obtaining the 4th highest rating in that Bar Examination.

After the results of the Bar were released in May 1987, Atty. Palma, Jr., joined the then Law Firm of Herrera Laurel de los Reyes Roxas & Teehankee, based in Makati City. He specialized in contracts and corporate law, and acquisitions and mergers, involving several large projects at that time for several clients of the Firm.

In 1991, Atty. Palma, Jr., moved to Cebu in 1991 and joined the Law Office of his late father, Atty. Jose D. Palma, to form the Palma Palma & Associates Law Firm. In Cebu, Atty. Palma, Jr., has had an extensive practice in civil law litigation, including cases involving real property disputes, and corporate law. His corporate law practice involves several large Cebu-based corporations.

Atty. Palma, Jr., has also had an extensive teaching background. From 1987 to 1991, he taught law subjects for the Business Management Department of the Ateneo de Manila University, College of Arts and Sciences. From 1991 to 1995, he was both a Professor at the University of San Jose Recoletos College of Law, and a member of the part-time faculty of the University of the Philippines College-Cebu, also teaching law subjects. From 1995 to 2000, he was a Professor at the University of San Carlos, College of Law, where he taught Civil and Commercial Law subjects.
